Job Description

In this role, you will work as a member of a dynamic team of engineers and technicians responsible for supporting and maintaining a long‑standing hydraulic brake test system within a test facility environment. Your primary duty will be to maintain, troubleshoot, and support test equipment used for validating hydraulic brake system performance and durability. This includes hands‑on work with hydraulic actuation systems, test benches, instrumentation, electronic equipment, and hand tools. Strong collaboration and communication with engineers and fellow technicians is essential to succeed in this role. Active participation in continuous improvement activities and cross‑training will provide opportunities to build your technical skills while helping sustain reliable test operations for legacy systems.


Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain and service hydraulic brake test systems to ensure consistent, safe, and reliable operation
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control‑related issues affecting test equipment and fixtures
• Perform preventative maintenance activities, inspections, and component replacements to minimize downtime
• Support setup, adjustment, and reconfiguration of test benches and hardware to accommodate ongoing testing needs
• Monitor system performance using instrumentation, data displays, and recorded signals to identify abnormal operation or degradation
• Disassemble and inspect hydraulic and mechanical components as part of troubleshooting, maintenance, or failure investigation activities
• Interpret technical documentation including maintenance procedures, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
• Work closely with engineering and technician teams to communicate equipment status, resolve issues, and support test continuity
• Contribute to improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, maintainability, and safe operation of legacy test systems


Physical Demands / Work Environment
• Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing assembly environment, which could include standing for much of the day.
• Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to support engineering’s working hours and flexibility for overtime based on delivery demands
• On-site support required 100%

Pay Rate: $25-30/hr

Required Skills & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience in hydraulic system repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a laboratory or industrial setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot AC voltages up to 480, and DC control circuits.
• Experience with control wiring.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Background in planning/executing preventative maintenance plans
• Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel
• Experience working in an automotive lab environment
• Data collection/record-keeping experience
