Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Controls Engineer with Soft PLC experience in the Warren, Michigan area. The Controls engineer is responsible for supporting the validation of a virtual PLC system - including hardware design using EPlan, PLC programming and debug, component validation, process validation, and recovery.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Design and build network connectivity for VirtualPLC development
- Design and assemble a network system to support the development of a VirtualPLC validation system - Hardware design will be performed in EPlan - System will consist of a server hosting VirtualPLC instances, connectivity to IO devices and robots on the lab floor that emulates 3 separate systems on the plant floor - Each system will be for validation and demonstration purposes composed of a cobot and necessary IO to support fastening, inspection, and pick and place processes.
- Program and Debug SoftPLC logic for VirtaulPLC Validation
- Responsible to program, configure, and debug a system that validates a fenceless solution for cobots.
- Configuring the hardware and software, translate relevant GCCS logic to CodeSys, and debug and validate the demo systems.
- Support Lab Floor and responsible to provide controls and PLC support to other Lab floor projects
Compensation:
$50/hr to $53/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- 10+ years of experience in automation systems & PLC programming
- PLC programming experience within Rockwell and CodeSys
- Configuration experience of PLCs, IO, safety devices, Ethernet switches
- Automation network design, configuration, and debugging experience
