Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to serve as the primary engineer responsible for mechanical engineering activities on various architectural projects. In this role, you will lead project responsibility as assigned, delegating tasks effectively within the engineering team. You will be responsible for detailed design of mechanical systems, including HVAC (airside and waterside), plumbing, fire protection, controls, and acoustics, while preparing comprehensive drawings and specifications. The position requires providing technical expertise and quality control direction throughout all phases of a project. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
Leading projects - primary engineer taking responsibility for mechanical engineering activities on given projects
Delegation of tasks to project engineering team
Detailed design for mech systems (HVAC - airside & waterside, plumbing, fire protection, controls, acoustics)
Prepare detailed drawings and specifications
Provide technical expertise and QC direction for all project phases
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders & clients

Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in engineering
• EIT Certification (someone who has passed their FE exam)
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline - especially architectural engineering
• Experience working within the industrial, commercial, or healthcare (priority in that order)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP or Revit
• Ability/willingness to travel as projects dictate
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• PE Certification (Professional Engineer)
• Master's degree in an engineering discipline
• Proficiency in Trane Tracer software
• Membership in professional engineering organizations (ASHRAE, ASPE, IES, etc.)
