Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Application Engineer in the Dearborn, Michigan area. The Application Engineer will be responsible for

Development of new NFC (near field communication) hardware, software, and systems:
a. Work with lead engineer to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.
b. Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers.
c. Quality documentation development and reviews
d. Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory or legal requirements are met including RF certification and homologation.
e. Packaging of receiver module to optimize RF reception.
f. Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for NFC READER system on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc). Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues.
g. Manage parts release in WERS.
h. Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management.
i. Collaborate with Chassis and Vehicle Operations teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met.
j. Travel to supplier facilities and assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.
k. Additional responsibilities may include the following: FEDE BOM, Netcom Message List, ARXML, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW
Support Warranty Analysis and quality improvement:
l. Warranty Parts Center, weekly parts review with supplier.
m. Weekly Warranty reviews with supplier and PVT’s
n. Warranty parts tracking and data bases maintenance (Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint, etc)
o. Warranty reviews and presentation with management and program teams
p. Work with Quality and FCSD departments on improvement initiatives.


Compensation:
$35/hr to $38/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 2+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems
- CANtools experience – CANalyzer

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- TPMS system experience
- RF (radio frequency) experience – key fob, infotainment, cellular, TPMS, vehicle module
