Job Description
The Automation Controls Engineer will lead the design and execution of simple to complex automation projects across the facility. The projects will have a wide range of application types and be centered around robot cell implementation. Simple applications will be robots that are off-line and provide a "helping hand" to reduce non-value-added waste from the production team members. More complex projects will involve leading 3rd party integrators to design, build and execute fully integrated automation cells. Projects may also include automated material handling and delivery systems.
Develop and document requirements required to design an automotive system
Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologies
Oversee requirements development with other activities
Provide support to other specialists for root cause analysis
Strong ability to expertly capture and analyze empirical data.
Design Tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvements
Stay on top of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Identify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with industrial automation or controls systems
