Job Description

Insight Global is looking for Electronics Validation Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for performing the technical validation of the related functions; focusing on functional performance, creating validation test plans/reports, and general system functionality as a customer would interact with the vehicle & system. The individual will be required to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders (i.e. HMG R&D, suppliers, & quality departments, etc…). The candidate is expected to have knowledge of the system components, architecture, and be able to provide recommendations related to the User Experience (UX). The engineer should have troubleshooting/root cause analysis skills and be proficient with both oral and written communication, so effective and efficient communication is provided to management and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs


Compensation:
$30/hr to 34/hr or more
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related fields (MSEE or MBA preferred)
• 1-5 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Knowledge in vehicle communication technology (CAN & Ethernet).
• Knowledge in the automotive product development process (concept to launch) preferred.
• Experience in root cause analysis & corrective action plans of electrical systems & components.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in in-vehicle validation testing and competitive benchmarking.
• Familiar with OEM applications of guidelines (lockouts, reduced complexity).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop/keep good relationship with tech experts from R&D Center and counterpart teams.
• Knowledge in ECU HW/SW design.
• Ability to evaluate UI implementations (displays and controls, touchscreens, physical controls and switches, and labels).
• Flexible in program and process changes. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis is willing to make late changes to satisfy customer needs.
• Understanding of electrical component specification development.
• Experience in creating component timing, test plans and procedures.
• Knowledge in validation bench development.
• Proficiency in using automotive test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and CAN tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe) is essential for diagnosing electronic issues, validating system performance, and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
• Basic understanding of mobile network technologies (e.g., 4G LTE, 5G, GSM) is valuable for validating telematics systems, connected vehicle features, and ensuring reliable communication between vehicle modules and external networks.
