Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite for a client in Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities include:
- Modeling and simulation of key powertrain components and systems including hybrids, battery electric and fuel cells.
- Making and standardizing new simulation methodologies related to structural powertrain problems.
- Improving existing simulation methodologies for efficiency and accuracy to improve product development process.
- Benchmarking of new technologies and model base development technologies.
- Collaborate with universities, research labs and engineering companies to conduct research in electrified powertrain including hybrids, battery electric and fuel cells and apply to in-house development
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify new opportunities for research and development
Develop prototypes to demonstrate feasibility of the products

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineering
- Familiarity of automotive powertrain components and systems
- Theoretical knowledge in finite element analysis, structural analysis and dynamics
- Reporting experience on project status to team members and project sponsors
Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Masters degree in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineering
- Experience in hands on experience and testing for data acquisition
Knowledge of automotive powertrains - engine, transmission, driveline, battery, etc.
