Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager in the Auburn Hills, Michigan area. The Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of 4 engineers and additional team members in designing, developing, and launching the next project for the company. They will utilize their technical skills in digital interfaces, communication technologies, system integrations, analog power systems, user interface, sensors, and motors to help with design decisions to build scalable systems across different products. Some leadership responsibilities will be supervising different department teams, carrying out supervisory responsibilities while following company policies and laws. As a leader, you will also be involved in interviewing, training, and hiring, planning, and directing work, performance reviews, addressing any team issues, and enforcing the safety guidelines.
Other Responsibilities:
• Leads the growth and development of the Electrical Engineering team to support multiple concurrent projects.
• Applies structured organizational practices and oversees the new product development lifecycle.
• Manages team performance through coaching and development, while handling project escalations within the Electrical Engineering scope.
• Facilitates design reviews to ensure quality and alignment.
• Creates specifications for design verification.
• Works closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration.
• Oversees validation processes and provides breadboards to support early-stage software testing.
• Offers support across all design efforts and promotes scalable solutions using reference platforms and tools.
• Ensures designs meet high standards for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Verifies that electrical engineering projects are properly staffed and equipped with the necessary skills.
• Builds and sustains high-performing teams.
• Ensures team proficiency in standard methodologies, tools, and processes through ongoing training.
• Supervises and contributes to the design of electrical circuits and systems from concept to production—including ideation, scheduling, schematic creation, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
• Identifies and recommends professional development opportunities, both formal and informal, based on team needs.
Compensation:
$40/hr to $45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering
- 8+ years of Embedded experience
- 3+ years of experience leading a team
- Experience with PCB CAD (schematics, PCB layouts, trace routing)
- Experience with power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, & signal generators
- Experience with soldering and basic electronic hand tools
- Comfortable with office pets!!
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering
- Experience in the mobile and desktop consumer electronics space
- Advanced knowledge of communication technologies
