Emissions Technician

Day to Day:

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is currently looking for a Technician in the Vehicle Emission and Efficiency Lab (VEL) at our Superior Township, Michigan facility who will perform vehicle emission testing on a chassis dyno to comply with EPA/CARB regulations, ISO 17025 requirements and industry best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform chassis dyno emission tests (analyzers, dyno, data acquisition and other equipment) - Majority of position

· Support SHED testing (HSL, DBL and ORVR)

· Support daily equipment calibration and maintenance

· Complete necessary test documentation paperwork

· Support maintenance of lab ISO-17025 certification

· Perform light mechanical work

· Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of chassis test cells and work area

Perform additional projects as assigned

Must Haves:

· 1+ years of emissions lab experience

· Expereince driving a vehicle on the Chassis Dynamometer

· Experience performing EPA/CARN vehicle emission test procedures

· Working knowledge of EPA/CARB vehicle emission test regulations for ICE and/or xEV vehicles

· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior

Plusses:

· Associates Degree in Automotive Mechanics or related
