Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Supply Chain Group Leader, you will have supervisory responsibilities for a medium/large group of employees in supply chain operations. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation and execution of business processes in supply chain to support vehicle operations, as well as foster an atmosphere of teamwork through effective communication, training, coaching, and development. This position provides a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally to support Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment (SPQRC).



Responsibilities:

* Supervise medium/large team in supply chain operations in vehicle manufacturing plant.

* Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.

* Responsible for ensuring proper training, development and evaluation of hourly team members to promote highly effective teams.

* Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.

* Maintain a good working relationship and communicate with employees, union representatives, and management team.

* Understand and consistently administer collective bargaining agreements and company policies.

* Model GM's cultural behaviors and demonstrate the highest level of integrity at all times.

* Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators supporting the BPD.

* Cultivate a safety culture, and implement and enforce workplace safety rules and policies, including ergonomics, health and safety, and good housekeeping.

* Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintains departmental records and reports.

* Meet production cost schedules by supporting Production's ability to 'Build in Station."

* Maintain delivery methods for all operational material systems.

* Utilize appropriate inventory controls and follow up.

* Coordinate operational changes with Production.

* Manage scrap appropriately and timely.

* Identify opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered audits.

* Resolve issues working cross-functionally to closure.

* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

* 2+ years with supervisory experience of hourly and union workforce in a manufacturing environment

* Foundational knowledge of lean manufacturing in automotive

* Strong oral and written communication

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in waste elimination

* Proficient in Microsoft (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

* High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization, motivate employees and elicit work output.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience supervising employees in a union environment

* Experience supervising supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment (Body, GA, or equivalent)

* Knowledge of manufacturing / supply chain processes and procedures

* Experience and knowledge of supply chain systems (MGO, GEPICS, etc.)
