Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Software Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team is responsible for developing robotic vehicles that can be driven remotely/autonomously. The primary goal of the Software Engineer is writing source code and leading mid-level developers on software development lifecycle. This individual will be responsible for software development activities, architecting/designing software requirements, mentoring other engineers, and contributing to test plans/integrations on robotic systems. This is a hybrid role, and the candidate will be expected to work on site in Warren, MI 2 times per week (project permitting). The Software Engineer may also be asked to travel to DoD sites a few times per year for field support activities like troubleshooting, etc. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance!



*This is a HYBRID role. Candidates must be open to relocating and/or being onsite a few times per week at the work site in Warren, MI.*



Responsibilities Include:

* 75% software development for Warfighter Machine Interface

* Mentoring other engineers (5-7 junior-mid level engineers)

* Contributing to architecting/designing software requirements or implementations of features

* Supporting other scrum teams in program on a case-by-case basis

Required Skills & Experience

* 4+ years of experience coding in object-oriented programming C++ and Java or Python, etc

* Experience in software level testing (unit/integration testing)

* Experience writing automated software testing

* Ability to obtain a secret clearance

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering related

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* DoD experience

* Previous lead or mentorship experience

* Experience writing/executing test plans

* Active secret clearance

* Safety analysis or standards experience

* DO-178, Misra, etc.

* QT framework experience (UI toolkit)
