Job Description
An employer is looking for an Adjuster. This person will be joining the Customer Support Claims Team. They will be responsible for working with 3rd parties in regards to their insurance claims. The Claim Representative is responsible for the telephone investigation, evaluation, negotiation, adjustment and settlement of automobile liability claims requiring liability investigation.
Responsibilities:
* Completes coverage analysis including review of policy coverages and provisions, and the applicability to the reported loss.
* Achieve initial contact standards with all related parties.
* Secures detailed factual statements from insured's, claimant's and witnesses.
* Complete an investigation of the facts regarding the claim to further and in more detail determine if the claim should be settled.
* Thoroughly document the claim file and complete all claim closure and related activities in the assigned claims management system.
* Develops and maintains effective working relationships with automotive repair facilities, police authorities and independent appraisal firms
* Appropriately recognize and assign claims to other company units when necessary (e.g. Underwriting, recovery units, or Claims Special Investigative Unit).
* Maintain confidentiality of claim information
Required Skills & Experience
* 3+ years of experience within Auto Liability Claims (Resolving coverage questions, Taking statements, Establishing clear evaluation and resolution plans for claims, Negotiating claims, Securing and evaluating evidence)
o Negotiating claim settlements
o Securing and evaluating evidence
o Preparing manual and electronic estimates
o Subrogation claims
o Resolving coverage questions
o Taking statements
o Establishing clear evaluation and resolution plans for claims
* Michigan no-fault experience
* Strong customer service experience / good personality
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, keyboarding and data entry skill
* Ability to use their own equipment -- laptop
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree
* Completion of the Insurance Institute of Americas: General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims.
* Appropriate Insurance Industry coursework
* Completion of the Insurance Institute of America's: General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims, Associate in Management or equivalent
* CPCU coursework or designation
* I-Car 2000 training
* CCC training
