Mechanical Technician

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Technical to join a manufacturing client in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This will be a 3-4-month contract with potential for conversion. This individual will work closely with a project team consisting of a Project Manager, Machine Design Engineers, Controls Engineers, Technicians, and Technical Writers to develop robust solutions for Global Manufacturing. They will also operate testing equipment found in a typical materials laboratory and troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices or products. They will assist engineers in developing, building, and testing prototypes and participate in group design groups.

-High School Diploma or equivalent

-Direct mechanical trade experience (Machinist, Mechanic, etc.)

-Developed knowledge on induction motor, bearing, powertrain assembly

-Strong mechanical aptitude

-Must have demonstrated aptitude for creative problem solving and innovation

-Self-managed and organized

-Confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal)

-Great attitude and excellent team player

-Microsoft Office expertise

-Familiarity with Plastic Extrusion equipment

-Familiarity with Solidworks or other modeling software

-Familiarity with Solidworks EPDM

-New product development experience
