Job Description

* Responsible for the engineering development project DVP&R.

* Ensure every product requirement has linked tests cases with the use of IBM Doors toolset.

* Collaborates with system and test engineers on required test cases, loads, instrumentation, and fixturing.

* Plan and prioritize the power electronics subsystem level test plan with system engineers and project managers. Testing will include LV & HV electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, cooling & lubrication, NVH, EMC and functional safety elements.

* Performs reliability and Duty Cycle Analysis (DCLA) to AAM documented procedures, as well as defining procedures where gaps exist. Providing consistent reporting of conclusions linking a DCLA to a particular Test Order, Road Load Data, and customer or AAM internal requirements.

* Support data acquisition activities both internally and with customers. Provides Electrical, software and Controls support to the testing test via CAN tools as well as WW electrical interface.

* Ensure consistency of standard tests, methods, and sample sizes across the platform of products.

* Lead development of non-standard tests as required.

* Ensure adequate inspection and documentation of prototypes that will be used for verification. This includes limit samples within PCBA circuits that align with the testing purpose.

* Coordinate and track supplier DVP&R's for purchased components such as PCBA's, IC Chips, motors, inverters, etc.

* Report DVP&R timing, part availability & test status to launch and leadership teams as needed.

* Compile documentation of post-test results, organize post-test measurement and inspections to demonstrate IPC-A-610 compliance.

* Author customer level test reports documenting the test conditions, part level, & failure mode. Evaluation of the test to the customer requirement and present conclusions regarding the acceptability of the test results.

* Support customer validation activities including responding to vehicle test incidents or PRTS issues. Investigate part history, usage, and test conditions of incidents and participate in the post test tear-down, root cause determination, corrective actions, and writing PRTS responses.

* Ensures the project DVP&R is successfully executed in accordance with AAM PDP milestones and customer signoff is achieved.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5+ years of experience as a Validation/Test Engineer in the Automotive Industry

* Experience with DOORs (open to PTC, JIRA, Polarion)

* Hardware Testing, specifically within PBCs

* Experience with CAN communication tools

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering
