Insight Global is looking for a System Architect Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team is responsible for engineering next generation combat vehicles in support of Army advanced technologies. As the Systems Engineer you will support combat vehicle system development and testing for DoD. Activities include direct customer support, system modeling, generating system level design requirements, and producing system architecture work products necessary for the program. This individual should have great communication skills and previous experience working with military/vehicle systems and sub-systems. This team runs in an agile/scrum environment. The ideal candidate will be upbeat with a student mentality. This is a hybrid role, and the candidate will be expected to work on site in Warren, MI 2-3 times per week. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance!
Responsibilities Include:
15% will be Model Based Systems Engineering
85% will be other systems engineering tasks/requirements
* Direct contact and relationship management with customers/stakeholders
* Key contributor in the creation of vehicle system/subsystem architectures
* Lead programs and take requirements from customers to structure into manageable engineering components across multiple engineering disciplines
* 10+ years of experience as Systems Engineer or related
* BS in Engineering related field or Computer Science
* Previous experience working with military systems
* Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering such as SysML UML, DoDAF, UPDM
* Ability to create high level requirements/convey a design concept or system level plan to a larger team
* Subsystem and System level integration and testing experience
* Experience with Deterministic and Non-Deterministic Data Bus Architectures
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Process development and improvement management (CMMI)
* Ground combat vehicle electrical system design experience
* Familiarity with ground combat vehicle system safety design best practices
