Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join one of our nonprofit, healthcare improvement clients. This role will be a contract opportunity through the end of April 2027, with a chance for extensions.
As the Data Engineer, you will design, architect, and build modern data solutions that prepare our client’s business data for enterprise analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and future generative AI/LLM capabilities. This role is responsible for building data ingestion pipelines, lakehouse-oriented data models, and scalable data foundations that make organizational data reliable, usable, and ready for business-facing analytics and AI-enabled insight generation.
This is a forward-looking data engineering role focused on Microsoft Fabric, Azure, modern data lake concepts, medallion architecture, and LLM readiness. The Data Engineer will partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and vendors to ensure our client’s data is structured, trusted, and available for the analytics and AI layers being built on top of the platform.
Responsibilities will include but not limit:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and storage solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Notebooks) and Azure Data Factory.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and deliver data from internal and external sources.
- Build and maintain enterprise data models using best practices such as star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and medallion architecture.
- Implement data validation, quality assurance, and governance processes to ensure data accuracy, lineage, and compliance.
