Job Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Engineer, Facilities Engineering to support a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Wilmington, MA. This individual will be responsible for facilities equipment installation, troubleshooting, infrastructure upgrades, and construction project support across multiple manufacturing locations. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert for mechanical and/or electrical building systems, partnering with contractors, vendors, manufacturing leadership, and engineering teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable facilities operations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of facilities-related mechanical and/or electrical engineering projects.
Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and execution for infrastructure and construction initiatives.
Interface with third-party engineering firms, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions on critical facility systems.
Develop and review technical documentation, specifications, engineering drawings, and reports.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and engineering standards.
Support manufacturing operations by improving facility capacity, reliability, and resiliency.
Mentor maintenance technicians and junior engineers through technical leadership and guidance.
Drive sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency and utility conservation.
Act as the facilities engineering SME for mechanical and/or electrical infrastructure supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering, construction engineering, or related infrastructure roles.
- Experience supporting large-scale mechanical and/or electrical building systems.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- HVAC systems (chillers, cooling towers, boilers, make-up air systems, process cooling systems)
- Electrical distribution systems up to 480VAC
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Motors, pumps, bearings, seals, and alignment
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- PLC troubleshooting and controls systems
- Fire alarm and life-safety systems
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and technical assessments.
- Experience reading and interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- 5–10+ years of semiconductor facilities experience.
- Experience with toxic gas monitoring and distribution systems.
- Siemens Insight, Apogee, or Desigo building automation systems.
- Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) systems, including RO/DI water generation.
- Rockwell Automation ControlLogix platforms.
- Experience working within semiconductor cleanroom or Class 1 manufacturing environments.
