Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Network Operations Lead to support a large-scale Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) program across Department of the Air Force (DAF) and U.S. Space Force (USSF) installations. This individual will serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME), acting as the operational bridge between program leadership, military stakeholders, and commercial vendors.
This role is critical to ensuring a seamless transition from legacy military-managed networks to modern, vendor-supported infrastructure, including Zero Trust Architecture and enterprise NOC operations, while maintaining mission continuity.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Act as the primary operational SME supporting the Program Manager on network modernization efforts across assigned bases
Serve as the main escalation point for base-level network issues (wired/wireless) between Communications Squadrons, MAJCOM/FLDCOM leadership, and vendors
Oversee and support the integration of vendor operations with legacy CS/NCC/CFP environments, ensuring minimal disruption to mission-critical services
Monitor and validate “as-is” to “to-be” transition activities, ensuring successful migration of infrastructure and systems
Lead SLA tracking, performance monitoring, and reporting, holding vendors accountable to contractual and operational standards
Coordinate with DISA, CDCC, contracting, and base stakeholders on circuit changes, boundary updates, and modernization tasks
Provide technical guidance on network infrastructure, system design, and implementation planning for installations
Translate technical requirements between military stakeholders and commercial vendors, ensuring alignment and execution
Support incident response, escalation, and operational troubleshooting across enterprise network environments

Ideal pay rate $45-55/hr

Required Skills & Experience

- Active Secret clearance (eligible for TS)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
DoD 8570 / 8140 certifications (Security+ or Network+ required)
- Strong background in enterprise network infrastructure:
-Knowledge in areas such as : LAN/WAN, routing & switching, Fiber/copper transmission, Voice, video, and data networks
-Experience leading network operations environments (NCC, CFP, or similar)
-Ability to interpret technical documentation (schematics, diagrams, project designs, technical orders)
-Proven experience working between government stakeholders and vendor teams, especially during transformation efforts
-Ability to interpret Performance Work Statements (PWS) and determine scope alignment
-Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- One can sit in PACAF: Hanscom AFB, MA or Hickam AFB, HI
- second can sit in USSF: Hanscom AFB, MA or Colorado Springs, CO
