Job Description
We are seeking a Senior SCADA Developer to join a growing team focused on industrial automation and control systems. This is a newly created role due to team expansion and will play a key part in technical leadership, code quality, and system design. This individual will act as a senior resource supporting a team of 3–5 junior to mid-level developers, providing code reviews, troubleshooting support, and technical guidance, while also contributing hands-on to SCADA system design and development.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across GeoSCADA, OSI PI (including Asset Framework), and InTouch, along with experience in system integration and industrial automation environments. This position sits fully remote with up to 25% travel and has a compensation range of $59-$62/hr based on years of experience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain SCADA systems to monitor and control industrial processes
• Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior/mid-level developers
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across SCADA platforms and integrations
• Develop and configure GeoSCADA solutions, including system architecture and enhancements
• Build and manage integrations between SCADA platforms and data historians (e.g., OSI PI, AVEVA/Wonderware)
• Design and develop Asset Framework (AF) structures within PI for data modeling and reporting
• Configure SCADA systems such as InTouch and AVEVA System Platform
• Develop custom scripts (Python, JavaScript, VBScript, C#) to enhance system performance
• Support PLC integration and communication with field devices (Modbus, OPC, DNP3, TCP/IP)
• Perform system testing, commissioning, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with stakeholders (clients, PMs, engineers) to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Provide technical support and guidance to end users
• Contribute to architecture/design decisions for project-based work

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience with GeoSCADA
• Experience with OSI PI, including Asset Framework design & development
• Experience with InTouch and/or AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing SCADA systems
• Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA/DA, DNP3, TCP/IP)
• Experience integrating SCADA systems with historians and external data sources
• Programming/scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, VBScript, or C#)
• Strong understanding of systems integration and industrial automation environments
• Ability to mentor developers and provide technical leadership
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with solution architecture or system design leadership
• Background supporting project-based SCADA deployments
• Experience with AVEVA product suite beyond core tools
• Knowledge of network architecture and cybersecurity in control systems
• Industry experience in utilities, energy, manufacturing, or data centers
