Job Description

Biomedical Engineering Lab Specialist – Product Development

Overview:
Supports engineering-led product development through hands-on laboratory testing, including blood-based and benchtop experiments. This role partners closely with engineering teams to generate high-quality data, support device builds, and maintain compliant documentation within a regulated environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
-Execute blood-based, benchtop, and device testing protocols supporting product development and verification activities
-Prepare test articles, biological samples, reagents, and lab setups for builds, feasibility studies, and design iterations
-Document procedures, observations, and results in accordance with quality system and data integrity standards
-Collect, compile, and perform basic analysis of experimental data to support engineering decisions
-Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and workspace readiness to support ongoing testing
-Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and timelines

Required Skills & Experience

-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field
-Hands-on experience in a laboratory supporting biological or product development testing
-Strong proficiency with pipetting, reagent prep, sample handling, and standard lab equipment
-High attention to detail with accurate documentation of test execution and results

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience working with blood or blood products
-Exposure to biomedical device development, benchtop testing, or verification activities
-Experience working in a regulated or quality-controlled environment (documentation, traceability, etc.)
