Job Description
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the stability, security, and day-to-day operational integrity of the company’s production technology environment. This is a hands-on leadership role owning infrastructure, production controls, deployments, and IT service delivery, including helpdesk and end-user support. This role serves as the control layer of IT, ensuring all systems are provisioned, deployed, and maintained through disciplined, auditable processes.
This position owns the “run” environment and production controls but does not own IT strategy, architecture, or application development direction.
Responsibilities:
• Own and enforce control over all production environments and deployments
• Approve and govern production releases and deployments
• Enforce change management, access management, and environment segregation (dev, test, prod)
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure in Azure based on approved architecture standards
• Own CI/CD pipeline controls including deployment approvals and promotion to production
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using appropriate monitoring tools
• Lead incident management including response coordination, escalation, communication, and root cause analysis
• Oversee helpdesk and IT operations staff including ticket prioritization, workflows, SLAs, and escalation processes
• Manage access provisioning and deprovisioning following least-privilege and audit requirements
• Coordinate with Engineering and vendors to ensure controlled, compliant deployments
• Maintain audit readiness through documentation, change tracking, and operational controls
• Support ongoing IT operations and service delivery as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
• 5 to 8+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems administration
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure management
• Proven experience owning production environments and deployment controls
• Strong experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Experience with incident management, system reliability, and operational controls
• Experience with identity and access management including Entra ID and RBAC
• Experience overseeing helpdesk or IT service delivery functions
• Ability to work in a controlled, compliance-driven production environment
Nice to Have Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Azure, Security+, or other relevant technical certifications
• Experience working with cybersecurity tools and third-party security providers
• Experience supporting audit or regulated environments
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
