Job Description
Our client is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support and maintain a technology-driven environment with a substantial and growing software footprint. This role is critical to ensuring system stability, scalability, and performance through hands-on virtualization support and continuous system improvement.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of virtualized environments, contributing to overall system architecture, building and maintaining virtual machines, and supporting both existing and newly integrated software. This individual will also play a key role in automation initiatives, process documentation, troubleshooting, and assisting end users as needed.
This position requires strong technical expertise in virtualization technologies and hypervisors and will have virtualization and VM lifecycle management as a primary responsibility.
Active Secret clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support a complex, software-heavy environment with a focus on virtualization infrastructure
Build, maintain, and optimize virtual machines (VMs)
Contribute to system architecture, automation efforts, and process documentation
Support new software integrations and ongoing system enhancements
Troubleshoot technical issues and assist users across the environment
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure reliability, security, and performance
$50-60/hr

Required Skills & Experience
Active Secret clearance
Strong experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors (Red Hat, VMware/Broadcom, or similar)
Proven hands-on experience building, maintaining, and supporting virtual machines
Experience supporting and maintaining software-heavy technical environments
Ability to contribute to documentation, automation efforts, and system architecture decisions
