Job Description
As part of a base level contracted enterprise IT service delivery team, handles daily maintenance and troubleshooting, engineering and installation and testing of copper and fiber optic inside and outside plants, both classified and unclassified systems
• Configure/install/implement/test/troubleshoot all high-speed copper cabling distributed across the campus in a converged architecture
• Configure/install/implement/test/troubleshoot fiber cabling distributed across the campus in a converged architecture
• Monitor all hardware 'stock items' to assure proper level are maintained
• Provide materials list and labor estimates for upcoming project work
• Update and maintain cable topology drawings/fiber availability drawings using AutoCAD
• Document/update new processes and changed processes
• Capture all service incident and or service requests in applicable AF ticketing systems
• Manage work orders according to contract metric thresholds while providing premier customer service delivery
• Install communications backboards, rack and equipment cabinets where needed
• Install fiber optic cabling direct buried, and or using campus manhole/conduit systems
• Operate in underground / confined spaces safely and professionally
• Monitor, test and calibrate all test equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair of the base cable plant
• Professionally interact with customers and help resolve customer issues as required
• Provide planned and/or emergency after-hours support as needed

Required Skills & Experience
• Familiar with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint applications) 2013-2019
• Experience in installation/termination/testing/troubleshooting of structured cabling (CAT5e, CAT6) copper cabling plant is a must
• Experience in installation/termination/testing/troubleshooting inside / outside plant (multi-mode and single-mode) fiber optic cable plants are a must
• Proficient with cable test equipment and working knowledge of all applicable TIA/EIA cabling standards a must
• Ability to lift about 70+lbs required
• Critical thinking and leadership skills required for problem identification and resolution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong customer service skills
• High School Diploma with three years of experience
