An employer in the life sciences industry is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to join the team onsite. This person will spend 60% of their day using PySpark and Databricks to develop ETL processes. This person will work with various on-premise staging platforms in AWS and will need to make use of appropriate Python libraries for 20% of their day--the team works in an AWS environment. The Sr. Data Engineer will handle data integrations and pipeline development within data warehousing for 10% of their day. They will spend the remainder of their day working with other developers to guide them and collaborate to define/refine solutions. This person will also use SQL to write complex queries, optimize and debug queries.

- 4-5 years of experience working with PySpark in an AWS environment
- Strong experience using Databricks
- 2-3 years of experience working with AWS Cloud on data integration using: Apache Spark, EMR, Glue, Kafka, Lambda, S3, Redshift or RDS ecosystems
- Strong Python experience, and experience working with common Python libraries
- 4-5 years of experience using SQL for: writing complex queries, query optimization, debugging, user defined functions, views, indexes etc.
