An employer in the life sciences industry is looking for a fully remote AI/ML Architect to join their team. This person will design and lead the implementation of advanced AI and machine learning solutions. They will define scalable AI/ML architectures, optimize model performance, and collaborate with various business units to integrate AI capabilities into applications. The AI/ML Architect will work with stakeholders to identify and document business and technical requirements, ensuring effective communication between teams. They will design end-to-end AI/ML solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient. Additionally, they will guide data scientists and engineers in developing, training, and deploying machine learning models, and establish best practices for MLOps, including model versioning, monitoring, and retraining. The AI/ML Architect will develop AI frameworks and reusable components to accelerate AI adoption, optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for high-performance model training and inference, and evaluate emerging AI technologies to recommend suitable tools and methodologies. They will ensure compliance with AI ethics, governance, and data privacy regulations, implement microservices architecture for scalable software solutions, and use cloud platforms like AWS and Azure to deploy applications.

Ideally, this person will come from a development or engineering background and have transitioned to an architect role.
Strong experience in Machine Learning.
12+ years of experience, with 3-4 years as an architect. If the total experience is less than 12 years, they must have more than 3-4 years of experience as an architect.
1.5-2 years of experience using Generative AI to put solutions into production.
Strong background in Python development and engineering, particularly in ML.
Proficiency in Azure, including Azure OpenAI, and generative AI in Azure (open to other platforms).
Familiarity with AWS services on the backend, including Kubernetes and microservices.
