A Fortune 500 client is looking for a Director of Sales Engineering (Compute/AI) for their East Coast region. This client is leading company in the Aerospace and Defense, communications, enterprise healthcare, industrial, capital equipment and energy industries to deliver solutions for their most complex challenges in manufacturing hardware solutions. The Director of Sales Engineering acts as the primary technical lead resource for the federal services account management sales force providing both pre-sales and post sales activities for new and existing customers. This role is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, but there is an opportunity for people management down the line. The ideal candidate needs to be able to have extensive experience in the Federal Services business development world and can clearly articulate technology and product positioning and develop value propositions for both business and technical users. You are accountable to apply deep market and technology understanding in the Datacenter solutions space that encompasses networking, server, storage, node, and rack level integration. This role requires frequent travel to the East Coast USA (NY) to visit customers and support implementation at customer sites as needed.

10+ years of total sales or business development related experience
5-7 years of sales experience selling servers, storage, and networking productions and solutions to Federal Services OEM companies
Must have technical experience and understanding in the data center solutions space
Deep understanding on server, storage and network hardware and software ecosystems
Ability to interface with customers and troubleshoot different technical solutions
Willing to travel onsite for client meetings as necessary and some global travel
Experience working with federal services clients such as: Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Leidos, Raytheon, Boeing or similar
Specializes in capture to market for the federal services space
AI/ML applications experience in both an enterprise and edge deployments is a plus
Experience working for a small sales/startup sales organization environment is a plus
