Job Description
Insight Global is sourcing for a Data Engineer to join an Executive Agency for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As the Data Engineer, you will be joining the IT organization that obtain about 50+ developers, BA's, Project Managers, designers and more. This team is focusing on new developments and enhancements for all applications that interact with the public, specific to Department of Agriculture, Parks & Rec, Permitting, Public Utilities, and Hunting & Fishing. As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for taking the existing applications and feeding the data into data lake to build unified reporting tools for multiple business units for further data testing. To be successful in this role, you must have a self-starter mentality and bring advanced knowledge to the team to create practical applications for raw data.
You will be required to go onsite 1 day per week in Downtown Boston to meet with the rest of the team members. If you are looking for a challenging environment to create world-class business impacts within an environment hitting significant scale, then this is the place for you.
Required Skills & Experience
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Engineer, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
- 6-8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in a Business Intelligence domain.
- Strong in data collection and transformation using SQL & Python
- Experience utilizing analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Advanced Big Data background using technologies and tools like Hadoop, Spark, and/or Airflow
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
- Background experience of feeding applications into data lake.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Master's degree
- C# and Angular background
Certifications in data engineering or cloud platforms.
