An employer is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to join the home security branch of a large technology company. This candidate will collect component and system information from hardware development engineers, search for existing part numbers or creates new ones, and structure product information into Bills of Material. He/she will manage Revision Change Orders and control product revisions. The employee will work with the Finance team to report on and understand product costs. This individual will control engineering documentation accuracy and disbursement to internal and external customers. Additional responsibilities include:
- Item Master add, change, and delete control
- BOM Data creation and management
- RCO implementation and control at Contract Manufacturers
- Product Data and document management
- Help Contract Manufacturers with data access issues, and monitor their access
This position is a hybrid onsite/remote role, with 3 days onsite in North Reading, MA. Monday-Wednesday would be preferred, but the specific days can be worked out.
- 2+ years of professional experience involving documentation and data input
- 1+ year of BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and control experience
- Strong experience with Agile PLM software or a similar PLM rev control system
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic component concepts and terminology
- Associates Degree or 2-year post-secondary technical education/training program
- High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and driven individual who takes initiative and can work independently
- Technical writing skills and prior engineering documentation
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Experience working with ERP management systems
- Strong excel skills (vlookup, pivot table expert)
