Job Description

A top medical device company and market leader in medical aesthetics is currently seeking to bring on a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-product focused R&D team located in Westford, MA. In this role you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development of mechanical, opto-mechanical, thermal, and electro-mechanical sub-systems within energy-based systems for medical applications.



Responsibilities Include:



- Specification, design, implementation, testing and qualification of mechanical components and subassemblies for energy-based systems.

- Documentation and production release of the design.

- Expertise designing precision machined parts, injection molded plastic parts, sheet metal, castings, harnesses, and printed circuit board packaging.

- Manage the mechanical development of projects, as well as directly contribute to the design verification and system level integration of mechanical subsystems.

- Working with cross-functional teams of optical, mechanical, electrical and software engineers, marketing, and program management to jointly develop new products in a fast-paced environment.

- Maintaining 3D printers and knowledge of proper design for 3D printed parts.

- Works with supervisors / project managers to develop detailed project schedules and budget.

- Develop medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.

- Design and execution of Verification and Validation testing and reports.

- Mentor and assist other less experienced mechanical engineers.

- Work with suppliers and procure prototype purchases.

- Work as part of a team to develop prototypes for clinical research.

- System administrator of SolidWorks and PDM CAD vaulting for 6-8 users.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have(s)

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering

- 4+ Years of professional experience with in product development

- Advanced Skill Level w/ Solidworks

- Experience utilizing GD&T principals w/ design implementation

- Experience working on Laser or Opto-Mechanical products/projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

- Masters Degree

- Direct experience working with in a regulated industry (Medical Device, Aerospace, Automotive, DOD, ...Ect)

- Experience using Finite Element Analysis to analyze opto-mechanical and thermal performance as needed

- Laser experience

- SAP PLM experience

- Familiar with machine shop processes

- Experience with regulations and standards (IEC/UL, ISO, FDA)
