A client is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer local to MD or VA to primarily sit remotely. The Network Engineer will work on a team of 5 to plan design, implement, and manage a federal customer's network infrastructure. The work will be primarily remote, but the Engineer must be willing and able to travel to the customer's data centers (Windsor Mill, MD and Ashburn, VA) to perform configuration and other tasks, as needed. It is a hybrid environment primarily consisting of AWS, some Azure, and the potential for GCP.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years in maintaining enterprise-level Cisco network infrastructures
- Proficient in data center routing, switching, and security
o Expertise in design and implementation of ASA/Firepower, Cisco Wireless Controllers and VPN technologies
o Expertise in various routing protocols and Nexus switching technologies
o Expertise in Cisco ISE implementation and management
- Experience designing and troubleshooting networking infrastructure
- Experience supporting private and public cloud networking services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
