Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Applied AI/ML Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of next-generation artificial intelligence capabilities within a growing technology organization supporting government customers. This individual will work alongside engineers, architects, and technical leaders to develop AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, and machine learning solutions that support complex operational challenges. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience building, deploying, and optimizing AI-enabled applications in production environments. The selected candidate will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, including solution design, model integration, software development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Successful candidates will be comfortable working across multiple technologies while rapidly adapting to evolving requirements and emerging AI capabilities. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building innovative solutions, experimenting with emerging technologies, and delivering practical AI capabilities that solve real-world problems.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled applications and services
• Develop and support agentic AI workflows and automation capabilities
• Integrate LLMs and machine learning solutions into scalable software applications
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and technical leadership to develop innovative AI capabilities
• Deploy and maintain applications within cloud-based environments
• Develop APIs, integrations, and supporting services that enable AI functionality
• Evaluate, test, and optimize model performance and application reliability
• Troubleshoot application, integration, and deployment issues across multiple environments
• Support proof-of-concept efforts, prototype development, and production deployments
• Contribute to engineering best practices, software quality, and continuous improvement initiatives

$75hr to $115hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience

• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, or deploying AI/ML solutions within production environments
• Experience building applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, or agentic AI frameworks
• Strong Python development experience
• Experience deploying applications within AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments
• Experience working with software development best practices and service-based architectures
• Experience utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience integrating AI solutions with APIs, databases, or external systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently throughout the software development lifecycle
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams in fast-paced environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Active Top Secret, TS/SCI Clearance or Polygraph
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar AI orchestration frameworks
• Experience building agentic workflows, autonomous systems, or AI-driven automation solutions
• Experience deploying machine learning models utilizing Kubernetes or MLOps technologies
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or similar machine learning frameworks
• Experience evaluating model performance and implementing AI observability capabilities
• Experience supporting NLP, computer vision, cyber analytics, or advanced AI applications
• Experience within defense, intelligence, cyber, or national security environments
• Previous military experience within intelligence, cyber, communications, or technical operations communities
• Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions
