Insight Global is seeking a Structured Cabling Estimator / Technical Advisor for a top commercial technology infrastructure client. This individual will serve as the technical bridge between sales, estimating, and operations—owning the translation of client requirements into compliant, executable structured cabling solutions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced pre‑sales environment while supporting successful project delivery and long‑term growth into a senior estimating role.
• Act as a technical advisor to account executives and clients during pre‑sales
• Conduct on‑site surveys to assess infrastructure, pathways, and constructability
• Analyze client requirements to define scope, assumptions, and solutions
• Develop accurate BOMs, labor estimates, and pricing models
• Design code‑compliant structured cabling solutions aligned with product standards
• Prepare SOWs, RFIs, and proposal documentation for SCS RFPs
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings, scope reviews, and client presentations
• Document assumptions, exclusions, and terms & conditions
• Support proposal strategy and internal reviews
• Lead or participate in project kickoff meetings with operations
• Ensure estimate accuracy to protect margins and execution success

Required Skills & Experience
• 2-5+ years of experience in commercial structured cabling or low‑voltage environments
• Proven experience estimating large‑scale commercial cabling projects
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling installation methodologies
• Ability to generate accurate BOMs, labor estimates, and cost models
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams, and pull schedules
• Strong understanding of copper and fiber termination standards
• Experience developing SOWs for SCS RFPs
• Familiar with BICSI standards of structured cabling
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for estimating and labor modeling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting pre‑sales and proposal strategy discussions
• Exposure to P&L‑driven estimating environments
• Experience leading project kickoffs and scope handoffs to operations
• Salesforce experience for document management and collaboration
• Bluebeam experience for take‑offs and document markups
• Interest in career growth toward Senior Estimator / RCDD certification
• BICSI Technician Certification, Level I or Level II
• Prior Military is great
