Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to work out of a fabrication shop in Brandywine, MD. This position will assist the Safety Manager by planning, coordinating and implementing Southland’s safety, health and environmental protection programs, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards and industry regulations, and promoting a safe, incident-free work environment for employees.
- Report concerns to safety management and ensure health and safety standards are met by coordinating, promoting and conducting various programs and activities related to the safety management system.
- Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas/procedures and recommend corrective procedures.
- Provide recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues and ensure cited issues are corrected within designated time frame

Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a safety professional in a manufacturing, fabrication shop, or warehouse environment
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required or related field
- OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Must be able to successfully pass a BC Check & DT
- Strong Intangibles: Able to operate in a fast-paced environment + self sufficient
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- CHST or other related safety certifications
