Job Description
An employer is looking for a Senior System Admin to sit at Fort Meade. The Senior VDI Engineer will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) operations, providing leadership and strategic guidance in a fast-paced environment. This role includes supporting escalated tickets during major outages, onboarding new environments, and collaborating with development partners to align with emerging technologies and customer needs. The candidate will interact with Tier III support, evaluate vendor products, and develop policies for resource allocation. Responsibilities also include applying security best practices, maintaining detailed documentation and SOPs, and mentoring junior technical staff.
Compensation:
$55/hr to $60/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
TSSCI
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce
Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one.
Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
ITIL v3 Foundation certified
