Job Description

Our client is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to lead a small team in Silver Spring, MD.
Shift: M-F 6 am - 2:30 pm, some weekend work, on call every 7 weeks

Provide weekly updates to Operations Manager/Chief
Document daily events, including repairs, preventive maintenance (PMs), and contractor activities
Maintain a 520,000 sqft office and retail space, primarily focusing on office areas
Manage console water-sourced heat pumps, heat exchangers, and self-contained units (SCUs), including recharging and compressor changes
Perform general maintenance tasks such as door hardware, plumbing, drain lines, and electrical work
Lead a team of 2 engineers
-Interact with tenants and building ownership

Required Skills & Experience

- 2-5 years experience as a building engineer
- CFC universal
- Proven leadership experience
- Experience with refrigerant-based AC units
- Knowledge of cooling towers
- Educational background in HVAC, electrical and plumbing
