Insight Global seeking to hire a Software Systems Engineer to join our team at the government customer site in APG, MD. The position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a wide variety of software applications and requires a strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and tools, as well as experience in developing and implementing automation solutions. Work closely with other developers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure that software applications are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Design Microsoft System Center Orchestrator runbooks with activities to automate deploying and configuring tactical servers
Create and update automation and architecture design for new hardware variations
Implement test cases/plans to validate code written to automate the deployment of a Windows domain on a virtual infrastructure
Develop scripts in PowerShell to automate the deployment of virtual machines into VMware Workstation/ ESXi including the configuration of virtual machine hardware and software settings
Improve the existing architecture by proposing and implementing changes based on best practices, speed/efficiency, scalability and security
Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps Server with Microsoft Visual Studio as a source code management system for reporting, testing and release management
Engineer the autonomous deployment of Microsoft products onto virtual machines allowing for receiving customers to tailor enterprise applications (Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint)
Implement solutions that allow for adding third party vendors servers to the automated virtual infrastructure
Program in C# to develop a robust interface that integrates with PowerShell scripts and SQL databases
Provide explicit technical documentation on the design, deployment and standard operating procedures for the automated infrastructure
Compensation:
$130,000 to $170,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
