An employer is looking for a Remote Mental Health Care Advocate to join their team in the Maryland area. This person will be handling calls from Emergency Department providers seeking authorization for Mental Health services for patients actively in the respective Emergency Department. Candidates must have experience interfacing with emergency providers frequently. All candidates must have a Masters degree in a relevant field, hold an active LCPC or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland and have experience with the utilization review/authorization of services from a payer perspective.

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling
Current, unrestricted license to practice behavioral health treatment in the state of Maryland (LCPC, LCWS-C preferred)
2+ years of experience in behavioral health performing level-of-care review for patients ranging from child to geriatric
Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System
Experience with Medicaid populations
Experience in treating people with Substance Use Disorders and/or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders
Managed Care experience and/or experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients
Bilingual Spanish
