Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Release of Information Supervisor, Health Information Management (HIM) to support a large hospital system out of Baltimore, MD. The ROI Supervisor will be under the leadership of the ROI Manager, and they will provide oversight and expert knowledge for operational workflow for the process of releasing medical records to, internal and external customers including regulatory agencies, law enforcement officers, patients, healthcare facilities and providers. The Supervisor will apply hospital and departmental policies and procedures, HIPAA Rules and Regulations, state (MD, DC, FL) and federal guidelines for all ROI workflow tasks. The Supervisor will provide leadership and support to the ROI Team Lead and the ROI Specialists for two or more hospitals. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing medical records requests from regulatory agencies across all of the system's hospitals. The Supervisor will be the first level of escalation for customer service issues or concerns. In the absence of the ROI Manager, the Supervisor will perform the duties of the manager to include oversight of ROI vendor at all hospitals. The Supervisor will create a customer service environment to ensure the highest level of service to all customers.
Responsibilities:
· Provide supervision and operational oversight in a customer service environment, which is fast paced and complex for two or more hospitals.
· Coordinate high-risk, high-priority medical record requests including internal (legal, billing) and external (i.e. OIG, CMS, etc.) audits and subpoenas according to policy for all JHHS Hospitals.
· Performing ROI quality reviews monthly to ensure high quality performance and department standards are achieved.
· Monitor and evaluate productivity and accountability standards for the HIM Department staff to ensure operational efficiencies and attainment of department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and organizational goals.
· Work closely with storage vendor to ensure adherence to contractual service levels agreements.
· In the absence of Manager serve as the as the ROI vendor liaison.
· Assess and Assign Daily work for two or more hospitals.
· Monitor Epic ROI work queues, ROI general email, Epic In-Basket, ROI general workflow.
· Works closely with internal departments to ensure compliant and complete processing of all ROI requests for any facility, this includes HIPAA, Legal, Quality Improvement and departments that maintain medical records outside of Epic.
· Facilitate training for new hires and existing employees to ensure staff are properly trained on all departmental policies, procedures and systems.
· Complete and conduct employee performance evaluations as required by organizational policy.
· Monitor attendance in compliance with departmental and organizational policy.
· Implement departmental and organizational corrective action policy as needed for performance or attendance concerns.
· Approves or denies requests for time off, to ensure levels of staffing to support established goals, and maintains schedule to reflect adequate staffing to meet the demands of the work volumes.
· Assists in the hiring process including the review of application, interview and selection of new employees.
· Compile departmental statistical productivity and quality metrics for submission to organizational leaders.
· Identify opportunities for efficiencies related to ROI policy and procedures.
· Enforce HIM procedures to ensure adherence with regulatory, department and organizational requirements and are updated based on system enhancements or regulatory updates.
· Provide regular updates to Manager and/or Department Leadership regarding individual and team performance, concerns related to customer service, process or technology, and submit ideas for improvement
· Maintain routine communication with staff with regard to operational updates, procedural changes, hospital initiatives, policy updates, etc.
· Perform all duties as listed under ROI Team Lead and ROI Specialist as needed.

· Associate's Degree in Health Information Management
· RHIT credential w/ 5 years' experience in HIM OR RHIA credential w/ 3 years' experience in HIM
o RHIT -- Registered Health Information Technician
o RHIA -- Registered Health Information Administrator
· Experience with ROI (Release of Information)
· Leadership experience
