Job Description
The EE will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the administration of
construction, design/build, engineering and facilities management complex-construction
projects. Services will include, but not limited to, pre-design phase services, design phase
services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration
services, and technical specialty services.
The EE shall possess a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of
higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both
design and construction.
REQUIRED
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be eligible and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (i.e., pass a federal background
check), as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity
Verification (PIV) badge.
LOCATION
All work will be located and completed at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, located at 10 North
Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
The EE shall possess a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of
higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both
design and construction.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Past responsibility for the engineering analysis, development, design and preparation of
complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
Experience providing technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering
disciplines as they pertain to all project work.
Prior experience being independently responsible and accountable for determining the
action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a
project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen,
and clerk/typists.
Prior experience being independently responsible for the review of the final contract
documents.
Experience surveying existing job conditions and conferring with client personnel to
determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on business services and other specific
design requirements.
Experience assessing risk that could have a severe impact on onsite personnel.
Demonstrated experience in providing decisive guidance and direction to technical aspects
of engineering related to building structures.
Past responsibility for the overall project management, in terms of technical quality, cost and
schedule.
Must be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and
federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each in relation to project requirements.
Demonstrated leadership and mentorship.
Must possess communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize a
variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying
knowledge of computer literacy.
