We are seeking a HVAC Supervisor. The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Plumbing Shop Supervisor plans, assigns, and inspects the work of Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics and Plumbers who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all HVAC and plumbing equipment installed in buildings on the Homewood Campus. The Campus is comprised of approximately 50 buildings, totaling nearly 4,000,000 gross square feet of space. Each building has an independent HVAC and building automation system designed to create and sustain the buildings indoor environmental conditions, which are vital for successfully executing the University's core mission of education and research.
The Supervisors primary duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Supervisor is responsible for formulating and developing unit goals and objectives and providing technical assistance and training to assigned staff. Work and results are reviewed through inspection and analysis of records, reports, completed work orders, and equipment and system performance. This position reports to the Associate Director of Plant Operations.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have at least 10 years' experience in the field of HVAC maintenance and repair.
Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role overseeing at least 10 people.
Must have experience with the operation of Building Automation and/or Energy Management systems, including both pneumatic and direct digital control systems.
Prior knowledge of CMMS systems.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have completed an HVAC journeyman level program or higher and achieved a respective journeyman's license.
Universal CFC certification.
Plumbing experience preferred.
Experience supervising in a union environment is preferred.
Formal training and/or education in the HVAC Field is highly desirable and preferred.
