An enterprise client is seeking a Principal Network Security Engineer to consult their team on a migration/translation from Cisco ASA to Palo Alto. This role is open because the on prem network needs to be modernized as the devices are years behind and will be going out of support (core/mid switches). This person will be within a Network and Cloud Infrastructure organization, working directly with the Tech Lead and vendor personnel to complete the project within the given timeline. In their day to day, this resource will be responsible for going through the policies on end of life palo altos, determine which policies to bring forward, modify, or abandon in order to successfully migrate. They will need to very well versed in palo alto panorama, and cisco ASA in order to find rapid success in the role, specifically the policies within cisco to palo alto, networking the new devices, configuring the new palo devices to the network, and preparing them to be able to migrate. All in all, this will be consolidating 4 ASAs onto brand new palo altos.
- 15+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Firewall configuration and management, and Network Security
- Expertise in Cisco ASAs and Palo Alto Panoramas
- Strong understanding of Cisco ASA Policies and translating policies from ASA to Palo
- Previous experience supporting an enterprise migration
- SDWAN experience
- Previous experience mentoring or leading junior engineers
- Palo Alto or Cisco Certifications
