Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Property Accountant for a non-profit client in New Orleans, LA. The Property Accountant is responsible for full‑cycle accounting for a multi‑property portfolio of residential and commercial assets. This role supports 8–10 properties, manages multiple bank accounts and investor-related activity (including LIHTC financing), and prepares monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Due to active portfolio growth, we are seeking someone who can step in and operate independently with minimal training.
Core Responsibilities
• Perform day‑to‑day general ledger accounting for multiple properties
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple operating, escrow, and investor accounts
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including reserves, security deposits, taxes, and insurance
• Manage debt schedules, investor activity, and LIHTC-related accounting
• Reconcile deposits and resolve discrepancies with property management teams
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close, including audit schedules and documentation
• Assist with cash management, transfers, and banking requests (ACHs, stop payments, etc.)
Partner with Property Management and Asset Management to support budgets, reporting, and portfolio needs
Compensation:
$60,000 to $80,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3+ years of property management or real estate accounting experience
Strong general ledger and bank reconciliation experience (non‑negotiable)
Demonstrated ability to prepare full financial statements independently
Experience managing multiple properties and entities simultaneously
Working knowledge of GAAP
Ability to hit the ground running with limited training and oversight
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
LIHTC / affordable housing accounting experience
Experience using RealPage OneSite / RealPage Accounting
Background supporting portfolios with multiple investors and banking structures
