Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an onsite Process Design Engineer for an O&G client who is expanding its renewable diesel production facility in Geismar, LA. This role follows a 9/80 schedule and focuses on developing small capital projects to enhance reliability and safety. The engineer will collaborate with Technical, Operations, and Maintenance teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze plant configurations, and lead the creation of design deliverables such as P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment specifications. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, the engineer will ensure compliance with industry standards and support the MOC/PSSR process. Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in engineering from an accredited university, 3-5 years of oil and gas industry experience, and proficiency in engineering calculations. Preferred qualifications include a chemical engineering degree and experience with major turnarounds and capital projects. Proficiency in steady state modeling software is also desirable.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in engineering discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience in catalyst monitoring, diagram loading for turnarounds, and long-term support activities
- Proficiency in PIE Vision and BlueBeam

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Chemical or mechanical engineering degree
- Proficiency in steady state modeling (HYSYS, PRO/II, PIPEPHASE)
- prior employment at an Oil major
