Job Description

Insight Global is searching for an Engineer to support one of our large clients. The Gateway Systems Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for the following:



-Offer technical support and guidance to staff on the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of the client's Gateway systems, including first and second-generation technologies and equipment. This role involves an on-call rotation.



-Engineer Network Timing solutions within a data/telecommunications framework.



-Proactively seek out and implement process improvements and automation to enhance system performance.



-Develop and maintain comprehensive gateway documentation, such as Solutions Database entries, technical bulletins, and standard Operations and Maintenance protocols.



-Coordinate and document system upgrades, including the integration of additional radio, trunk, Internet, or PSTN capabilities into the gateway infrastructure.



-Engage in the installation, commissioning, and validation of auxiliary systems.



-Contribute to the creation and facilitation of advanced technical training for gateway systems, catering to a diverse employee base.



-Collaborate with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) team and Gateway Operations to pinpoint and address technical challenges that could impact customer satisfaction.



Compensation:



$110,000 to $130,000 per year annual salary



Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Preferably Electrical, will consider Mechanical or other related)

* Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security practices, and gateway (base station) for satellite systems

* Min 3 YOE of applicable satellite communications or military experience working with wireless communications networks

* Min 3 YOE designing, troubleshooting, maintaining GPS sourced NTP timing and synchronization in a technical and critical production environment

* Ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally. Valid passport required.

* Automated scripting in any language, Power BI, AWS, Grafana, JIRA
