Job Description

Insight Global's Research Institution client is looking for a Post Award Manager for their Research Administration Service Units. This group include individuals that provide pre-award and post-award research administration services to faculty.

The Post-Award Manager within the Research Administration Service Unit manages, leads, and supervises all staff performing post-award activities for the sponsored projects research portfolio for their assigned department/ division/school. This management role will consist of 50% Post Award duties and 45% Management duties.

Post Award duties will include: Setting up payroll distributions, Requesting subcontracts and working with other participant's institutions, gathering approval for an Advanced Spending Account, Monitoring award budgets & expenses, Prepare award finance reports for Private Investigators, Preparing & routing no cost extension requests, Preparing CAS exceptions for approval, Submit journals and Retroactive Salary Transfers, Review subcontracts and associated purchase orders , Work with Grants and Contracts Accounting Office (GCA) on preparing interim Financial Status reports for sponsors, Clear suspense accounts, Submit invoices for some awards, including clinical trials, Review effort reports and facilitate certification process, Work with GCA on preparation of final Financial Status Reports for sponsors, Clean up award at the end of the award and request inactivation of account numbers, Assist with transferring of grants into and out

Management of team will include duties such as supervising the day to day operations of a Post Award Specialist team; oversee, evaluate, and review staff performing post award activities; ensure quality of staff activities, address issues that violate performance leevls of terms of the service center performance level agreements-both internal center staff & with depts and/or faculty, work with Pre-Award manager to coordinator inter-team meetings to facilitate collaboration between pre and post award teams.

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, statistics, liberal arts, etc.

- 5 years of experience with effective work-related grants and contracts management

- Supervisor or management experience with Grants & contracts Management Or, High School diploma/equivalent and 11 years of direct experience

-Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to grant and/or contract activity, with specific deep understanding of the post-award management processes for multiple sponsoring bodies

-Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to grant and contracts activity

-knowledge of University processes, systems and offices related to and/or involved in grant and contract submission and management

-ability to mentor personnel for professional development and to review, evaluate, and take action on employees

-Understand and be able to apply federal and university rules to management of effort allocation for individuals compensated whole or in part from federal awards

-Understand and be able to apply costing rules and regulations to federally funded projects

-Understand financial principles, processes and controls including the reconciliation process

-Excellent oral and written communication skills for creating high quality written reports and managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

-Ability to analyze data and formulate conclusions and learn changing technologies related to grants and contracts management
