Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support our Stamping Engineering team by performing dimensional measurement and analysis of stamping dies, panels, and assemblies. This role is responsible for utilizing advanced contact and non-contact measurement systems to evaluate product quality, support die development activities, and provide data-driven recommendations that ensure manufacturing excellence for current and future vehicle programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform dimensional measurements of stamped panels, dies, and assemblies using advanced contact and non-contact measurement systems, including ATOS scanners, Hexagon Absolute Arms, ARGUS systems, and traditional hand measurement tools.
• Utilize PolyWorks and WinCMM software to analyze measurement data and generate reports, color maps, and quality assessments.
• Conduct measurement and validation of checking fixtures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Evaluate stamping dies through dimensional analysis, identify gaps to target conditions, and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform statistical analysis of Class A, underbody, chassis panels, and sub-assemblies to assess dimensional accuracy, fit, and formability.
• Support vehicle build activities by conducting panel-to-panel (PxP), digital PxP, and nominal fit analyses.
• Interpret measurement data and provide technical recommendations to engineering and manufacturing teams regarding corrective actions and process improvements.
• Support pre-production die development activities by evaluating panel forming predictability through ARGUS analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to maintain high-quality standards and ensure successful launch and production readiness.
This position operates in a manufacturing and engineering environment and requires hands-on interaction with production equipment, tooling, stamping dies, and measurement systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to support quality, launch, and continuous improvement initiatives.
