Job Description

a FORTUNE 100 automotive company in the Georgetown, KY are is seeking a Planning Senior Engineer to join their paint department. Reporting to the Equipment Planning Group Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint PE department's objective to plan equipment for new vehicle projects, refurbishment and equipment life cycle management for the North American plants. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate and plan automation robots and expansion projects including process and layout design, equipment specification, standardization across the NAMCs and lead time reduction.
DAY TO DAY:
- Support evaluation of equipment project proposals, including process and equipment capability assessments
- Develop strategies and lead implementation for North American equipment deployment and standardization projects.
- Create presentations and reports to communicate project status and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Become an expert in multiple paint shop technologies and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve goals
- Develop standards and improve equipment specifications and standardization
- Lead specifications, and development processes

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor in Engineering
- Experience with CAD or similar modeling software (will be reviewing a variety of technical designs)
- Experience with specifications development for high-volume manufacturing equipment
- Experience creating Project schedules (A3, Ringi, punch lists)
- Ability to identify project constraints and develop effective countermeasures
- 2+ years of project management experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- PLC experience (Toyopuc, omron, Siemns, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Bilingual (Spanish or Japanese preferred)
- Experience with paint equipment (paint booths, conveyors, enclosures, air houses, etc.)
- Vision Systems or Robotics experience
- Experience with Machine risk analysis
