Job Description

Overview:
A client of ours is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Department Manager to lead and grow its construction materials testing operations. This role is responsible for managing technicians, overseeing daily scheduling across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality reporting, and supporting business development through repeat and new client relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role with growth opportunity.

Day to Day:
- Manage multiple technicians and their daily schedule to cover multiple projects
- Manage multiple construction materials testing technicians and coordinate daily schedules across various projects
- Review technician daily reports for accuracy, grammar, and formatting
- Support estimating and proposal development efforts
- Maintain and grow repeat business while helping bring in new client relationships
- Ensure field and reporting activities meet company and client standards

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
- 10 years of experience managing technicians or field staff
- Excel experience
- ACI Level 1
- Ability to coordinate daily schedules across multiple projects and priorities
- Experience reviewing technician reports for accuracy, grammar, and formatting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Background in construction materials testing or a closely related field
Ability to support repeat business and assist with client relationship management

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Engineering degree
- INDOT experience or certification
- KYTC experience or certification
- EIT
- Nuke gauge certification preferred
