Job Description

• Inspect water main installation activities for spec compliance
• Document work via daily reports, quantities, photos, and observations
• Identify and report non‑conforming work
-Coordinate with contractor, project engineer, and owner

Required Skills & Experience

• Construction inspection or field experience with underground utilities (water main preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contract documents
• Knowledge of pipeline installation: trenching, bedding, pipe laying, backfill
• Ability to confirm compliance with trench details and installation requirements shown in the plan
• Experience verifying line, grade, depth of cover, and alignment in the field
-Comfortable performing daily field inspections and reporting issues and documenting reports

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM, or local/state utility standards
• Background in civil construction, utilities, or water distribution
• Prior experience acting as a liaison between contractor and engineer
• NICET Certification
