Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will spend each day developing and maintaining a consistent, scalable approach to institutional data analysis while building knowledge management tools that help leaders understand key insights across the student lifecycle. Their work will involve applying statistical models, such as regression, classification, and forecasting, to support strategic decision‑making, as well as creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, forecasts, and databases that communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. They will regularly mine large datasets, performing data cleaning, validation, and error analysis to ensure accuracy, and analyze trends and patterns with institutional goals in mind. The role also requires developing deep expertise in academic, operational, and financial data, collaborating across departments to build and refine data models, and contributing to the automation of data processes and the development of machine learning workflows

Required Skills & Experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's preferred)
• 6-10 years of experience working within higher education, particularly with student information systems and institutional data.
• Strong programming skills for data extraction, transformation, and integration.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data tools for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Experience forecasting enrollment, retention, or financial trends
• Commitment to obtaining an Azure Data Science certification within 6–12 months of hire.
• Understanding of data automation principles and fundamentals of machine learning operations (MLOps).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience with knowledge management systems or tools that support student lifecycle analytics.
• Familiarity with big-data environments, algorithm development, and error analysis.
• Experience working with academic, operational, and financial datasets in a higher‑ed context.
Prior involvement in building or managing data models across functional units.
